One activity we did was Find a Friend. We played some groovin' music, and when the music stopped, students had to find a friend and sign their name next to a characteristic that described them.
Then we completed a classroom scavenger hunt to learn about the different areas of our classroom.
We explored our materials, like the first grade math manipulatives.
We practiced our reading stamina for our Read to Self stations for Reader's Workshop.
Finally, we participated in the school RODEO, where we learned the ROPES of OB. Students went to to a total of 19 stations all around the school to learn about our school. At each station, we received a puzzle piece. We put our puzzle together with all 19 pieces!
