Career Presentation with Dr. Partin

We had a great visit with Dr. Partin, Olivia's mom, on Friday.  She came to talk to our class about her career as a doctor of podiatry.

Dr. Partin told us that many of the skills that we are learning right now in first grade,,, she uses on the job daily.  Dr. Partin uses story-writing when she writes notes about patients.  She uses math and writing to write prescriptions for patients.  She has to be a great reader to read all of her medical books and information.  She has to be a great listener to understand her patients' needs.  There were several other examples that she gave.

She brought fun surprises for the class!  1S students looked ready for the medical field when they left the building on Friday. 😍

We love our cool lunch bags from Metro Foot Specialists too!

We are so grateful for Dr. Partin's thoughtfulness and very nice visit.  We like thinking about what we might want to be one day, and this is very helpful information for us!
