Career Day Presentation

Thank you to Anish's mom, Monali Prabagaran, for sharing her career with our class. She is a healthcare scientist for Washington University School of Medicine.  She is completing post doctoral work in the area of mother and baby's health.  She is researching to find the best treatment for a mom's health.

She began talking about what a scientist is and does.  She talked about different kinds of scientists and shared facts about some important scientists.  She went on to tell the students about her path as a scientist and the different subjects she had to study to become one.  The attributes she shared that were important to becoming a scientist were: paying close attention, having keen observation, asking questions, using teamwork, and never giving up.

Great questions were asked and students were very engaged in her presentation. Anish's mom encouraged every student to find out what they love and try to do what they love.  Great advice!  Thank you to Anish's mom for visiting our classroom and sharing her passion as a scientist.
